Aquaman DC animated film teased to come by Geoff Johns

Looks like a certain King of the Seven Seas may get his own solo film after all... In animated form and teased straight from the mouth of the man who's currently writing the character's ongoing comic book series.

Certainly something that's been a longtime coming, DC Comics' own scribe and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has teased that an "Aquaman" animated feature film is in the works, in response to a fan's question on whether or not the King of Atlantis and founding member of the Justice League would get his own DC Universe Animated Original Movie

Via a story from Comic Book.com, a Tweet question by user ChrisFox27 was posed to Johns, where he asked:

“Can we get an animated movies focusing on #Aquaman? He really, REALLY deserves a moment in the spotlight,”

Johns then responded in simple and exciting words:

"Yes You Will!"

And there you have it. A TEASE that Orin/ Arthur Curry will indeed be getting his own film, and after making appearances as a supporting character in other DC animated films like the recent Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (where he was voiced by Cary Elwes), one has to wonder which storyline and signature plot arc DC Entertainment will adapt for Aquaman. My bet's on Johns current and awesome New 52 series. After what Flashpoint Paradox did to make the DC Animated Movie timeline conform to the new continuity, the first arc of the relaunched Aquaman series "The Trench" is likely the one to make. Here's looking forward to this animated prospect in the near future!
