Set to come out at the end of the month, fans of AMC's The Walking Dead are looking forward to a lot of extra features and content with the home video release of Season 3 on Blu-Ray and DVD. That being said, it's also a great way to revisit one of the best seasons of the hit television zombie drama TV series, which is based of the popular comic book title created by Robert Kirkman. The third season of course sees Rick Grimes and his group settle in a Prison after months on the road surviving the zombie apocalypse, and while they seemingly find sanctuary, heavy prices and more threats show that nowhere is a total safe haven for them without constant attack from the undead and the living.
That being said, Entertainment Weekly has released this juicy and very SPOILERIFIC tease of one of the deleted scenes to be featured in the home video release, which features Andrew Lincoln and Sarah Wayne Callies, who play Rick and Lori Grimes respectively. It's a moment that turns quite surprising, and shows what could have happened had things gone differently.
SPOILER MODE ON, so view at your own risk.
Don't say I didn't warn you...
Here's Lori Grimes... As a Zombie.
Well, not entirely, since it's a figment of Rick's unstable imagination after his losing his wife early in Season 3. This deleted scene from Episode 10 "Home" was supposed to feature Rick catching up and sharing a tender moment with his "wife", only to recoil and see the horrible sight of her as a "walker". It's a theme that reflects another moment from the comic, but never came to pass in the actual episode. Still, it's interesting to see what could have been! Thanks goes to Enewsi for the heads up on the scoop, and you can view the 2-min clip via the source post at Entertainment Weekly.
The Walking Dead Season 3 comes to Blu-Ray and DVD on August 27.
