All Hallow's Eve has finally arrived, and with that said, I honor this day of horrors, monsters, costumes and the undead by showcasing some of my photoshop creations to commemorate the occasion! First up is a shot of me dressed as my favorite comic book character and superhero - THE BATMAN, recreated in a way which pays tribute to the dark roots of the heroic DC Comics character!
Lastly, here's something I made up from yesterday's Zombiethon 2011 zombie walk organized by Dead Zone, with me playing the part of Rick Grimes, police officer and protagonist of AMC's The Walking Dead...
With that, I leave you all to your scary tales and trick or treat moments. Happy Halloween, everybody!

Daily DCU features me on their 2011 Halloween Costume reel at Tumblr!
Pleasant tidings come from the DC Universe, as I finally get to share a pic of me cosplaying my favorite character with the rest of the world, and just in time for Halloween too!
While wandering the Tumblrverse as "The Wandering Warrior", I stumbled upon Daily DCU's 2011 Halloween Costume submission post, which called for any DC fan out there to submit their best DC inspires costume. Since I suit up as The Dark Knight himself, Batman, I gleefully submitted my entry, which you can see below!
Credits go to Pamela Olarte for this shot, and thanks also goes to my cosplay team, Justice PH for the help and joys of cosplaying as Timzster. It's a real honor to be there with the rest of the DCU fans who have entries... and maybe you can get yours up as well if you're reading this and have a DC inspired costume! So just go to Daily DCU and submit your entry folks!;)

Sneak Peek of The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 3: "Save The Last One"
The last episode of AMC's The Walking Dead ended in quite the cliffhanger way: Shane and Otis find themselves in a very precarious situation after finding supplies in the High School necessary to save Carl's life, while Rick and Lori stand by helplessly in Hershel's Farm, desperately hoping and praying that the men will return and that their son will pull through. Here's a promo from said episode, entitled "Save The Last One":
With Sunday just around the corner. here's a sneak peek clip the network has released to give a glimpse of what the next episode will be like, featuring a conversation between Daryl Dixon and Andrea.
This clip fleshes out Daryl's background more, and sees the duo confront another strange walker...

First look at the new Three Stooges!
Via USA Today and Bleeding Cool, the first full shot of the stars of the Farrelly Brothers upcoming "Three Stooges" flick has finally made its way online, showing actors Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Sean Hayes as Curly, Moe, and Larry respectively! The film, once rumored to have Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, and Jim Carrey as stars, has been long in development, and will finally see release next year on April 4, focusing on a present day tale of the stooges instead of being a biopic about them. The teaser poster released recently is actually a blackened version of the pic above, which once masked how the stooges looked like. Check it out.

Batman: Arkham City Nightwing DLC Trailer!
I love Batman: Arkham City, and it's arguably one of my top choices for Game of the Year. There's nothing short of excellence about this game, and as a sequel to 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum, Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady Studios have done exceptionally well in adding more layers of action, excitement, and story into this package that the ultimate Batman fan will relish and appreciate for all time to come. It's been a week since the game's release, and I'm sure most of you have already begun your second run in the game as of this writing.
If you're looking for more than the Catwoman content bundled with the game, fret not, as new DLC gets prepped up for a November 1st release, featuring none other than the first Robin and partner of Batman himself, Nightwing! Check out the launch trailer below to see the former Boy Wonder in action!

The Walking Dead gets renewed for 3rd Season!
Rejoice, Walking Dead fans! With the buzz and awesome fan reception given to the first two episodes of the second season of The Walking Dead, AMC has broke out the news that a 3rd season is confirmed and will make its way soon after all 13 episodes of the current season ends! This is BIG and EXCITING news for fans of Robert Kirkman's epic and ongoing zombie comic series, as this will give viewers a chance to see more things reimagined from the source material into television. Granted, season two of The Walking Dead has only aired two episodes, and the TV series has more or less drastically departed in so many ways from the events depicted in the books. However, it still retains the core theme and story of survival and tension, as a group of survivors led by officer Rick Grimes desperately search for some form of hope or humanity left amidst the zombie apocalypse that has all but destroyed any sense of civilization left in the world.
Here's the official press release from AMC after the jump. Thanks goes to Slash Film for the post and Update!

First Look at Leon S. Kennedy on the set of Resident Evil: Retribution
Via her official Twitter account and through posts in Shock Til You Drop and Comic Book Resources, Milla Jovovich has updated fans with a video what's going on in the set of her next Resident Evil movie, Resident Evil: Retribution. Once again directed by her hubby director Paul W.S. Anderson, the film picks up where the last one left off, with Milla's character Alice and her friends trying to finish off the Umbrella Corporation and its biological experiments once and for all, gaining new friends and allies who are familiar faces to those who've played the games (like yours truly). In fact, Shock Til You Drop has the video from Ms. Jovovich up which brings a close look at Retribution from Behind The Scenes, giving us our first look at Boris Kodjoe returning as Luther from Afterlife and the movie version of one Leon S. Kennedy, star of Resident Evil 2 and RE 4 who is going to be played by Johann Urb (also known as Sasha from Rolan Emmerich's 2012).
Resident Evil: Retribution delivers more zombie apocalypse action on September 12, 2012.

Sherlock Holmes 3 gets Iron Man 3 screenwriter Drew Pearce
Sherlock Holmes 2 is still due this December in theaters, but Warner Bros. has already gone ahead and tapped a writer for the next installment!
Looks like Robert Downey Jr. will be getting the same screenwriter for his new sequels in the Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes franchises, as Drew Pearce has been hired by Warner Bros. to pen the story for the British sleuth's next adventure. The story was reported by The Hollywood Reporter and posted at Superherohype, so it's amusing to note the Downey's getting the same writer who's penning the script for Iron Man 3, which is due on May 2013 and directed by Shane Black. No other info and details have been released at this point, but you can check out more info via the source post at THR and SHH.

And his age?! Find out below with the embedded video.

Sneak Peek of The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 2: "Bloodletting"
It's been a full week since the new season premiere of "The Walking Dead" in the US, but Fox Channel Asia will be airing the first episode in asian territories today, October 22nd, so be sure to check your local listings online or elsewhere for time and availability. Despite some mixed opinions about the premiere episode "What Lies Ahead", Season 2 started out pretty strong, and ended in a cliffhanger that just proves things are going to get far worse for Rick Grimes and his crew before they get any better.
To satiate the fans taste for more zombie action, AMC recently released this teaser clip for the second episode, "Bloodletting", featuring a sudden and awkward conversation between T-Dog and Dale. Check out the clip below for more:
A strange and sudden change in the attitude of T-Dog right there... Find out how it and the rest of the group's problems escalate in the next episode of The Walking Dead, premiering this Sunday.

The Punisher picked up for new Drama TV Series.
Anyone miss Frank Castle? I sure do, and I hope this new iteration of his alter ego "The Punisher" gets his just dues after three movies that had actors Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson portray the character in different ways.
Movie news site Deadline reports that Fox has picked up the rights to "The Punisher", with former "Criminal Minds" showrunner Edward Allen Bernero attached to helm the project. It will chronicle the exploits of Castle as both policeman and vigilante, keeping the peace during daytime while hunting and killing the scum who deserve justice at night. This marks the fourth Marvel property alongside "Hulk", "Cloak and Dagger", and "AKA Jessica Jones" being prepped up for TV. No other details were given as to who will star and when the TV series will premiere, but you can check out more info from the source posts at Deadline and Superherohype.

TDKR Prologue attached to Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (Updated)
Update: Slash Film updates that story has been confirmed, and the run time is 6 minutes, not 8.
Big Batman film news has arrived, but as far as official confirmation goes, take this one as a rumor first.
Back in 2007, while things were steadily building for The Dark Knight, director Christopher Nolan was wise enough to appease the hunger of fans worldwide by attaching a "Prologue" piece of the Batman Begins sequel into IMAX screenings of Will Smith's "I Am Legend". Obviously, the move was a smart one, and enough to generate buzz around the world, giving viewers a taste of the opening sequence of the film, as well as what Heath Ledger's Joker would be like in action. Sadly, the actor passed away tragically just a month after the prologue was shown, and the combination of that and his sudden demise garnered more interest for The Dark Knight, which inevitably grossed out the box office upon its release on July 18, 2008.
Flash forward some years later, and now similar news is buzzing up for the next and final Christopher Nolan Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. While this has yet to be confirmed by official sources, movie news site Slash Film has posted up a rumor that another "Prologue" sequence will be shown, attached to IMAX screenings of Tom Cruise's next Mission: Impossible flick "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol". It will reportedly run for 6 minutes, so whether or not this will be an opening sequence like TDK is still up in the air. Since Nolan shot certain sequences of TDK in IMAX which included the opening sequence/ prologue of that movie, the same should apply to the 6 minute footage from TDKR that will be bundled with Ghost Protocol. Hopefully this will get official confirmation sooner than later, and you can bet I'm going to line up in my local IMAX theater just to get a taste of things to come on July 20 next year! For more details on the scoop and story, visit the source post at Slash Film and related articles on Batman-News and Cinema Blend!

Reviews and Impressions: Batman: Year One and Batman: Arkham City
Today, October 18, 2011, is officially Batman day, and I do not jest making that claim either. Two very important releases pertaining to The Dark Knight and his crusade see release this day, namely the animated film Batman: Year One and the videogame Batman: Arkham City and I'd love nothing better than to share my impressions on both of them, primarily because 1.) I am a big fan of the character and 2.) they're just downright superb dishes fans of popculture and gaming can sink their teeth into. I know I did, and as of a few hours ago, I FINALLY got myself Arkham City...
Sweet. Perfect. Solid. I'll get to my impressions of the game in a bit, but first, here's a little review on the former animated movie I mentioned...

Marvel Teasers: "What if there wasn't only one?"
Marvel has released another teaser poster that's a sure fire way to keep heads bouncing and debating over in the comic book fan circle.
Featured in Marvel.com and Newsarama, a new one sheet points to new speculation that Cable may not be the only Marvel figure returning from the grave. The words "What if there wasn't only one?" is written in a clear black sheet, with a singular red star plastered in the middle. Obvious speculation leads fans to surmise that Bucky Barnes, the partner of Steve Rogers/ Captain America who was the Winter Soldier and perished recently as the second Captain America, is the one being hinted to return, but there's also the chance that it may be someone else coming back... or something new entirely. We won't know for sure until more details flesh out, but the release date is set for January 2012, so look for more details at the source posts at Newsarama and Marvel.com!

Not much is being said about the trailer, other than favorite superheroes Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, and Black Widow will be present and accounted for in the clip. It's not known whether this will be an edited version of the teaser featured at the end of Captain America: the First Avenger or a totally new trailer combining clips from that and the footages shown in previous cons this year, but nevertheless, everyone is waiting from 10/11 to arrive in iTunes. In the meantime, salivate your tastes by checking out the official photos and more details via the source post at Marvel.com!

Farewell and Thank You... R.I.P Steve Jobs.
Depending where you are in the world, in the early hours of the morning of October 6 (and night of October 5 in other parts of the world), Apple creator, wiz, and former CEO Steve Jobs tragically passed away at the age of 56. The very sad news broke all through media and the internet, and major sites like Yahoo! have reported the details and mounted up a record of his brilliance and vast accomplishments in the world of technology, specifically being the figurehead behind such modern innovations as the iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPad, and the iPhone. To reflect the loss of such a beloved and talented figure, Apple.com has posted the very picture you see above - a recent photo of Steve with the words "Steve Jobs - 1955 - 2011", on the main page of their official website, giving a solemn tribute to a man who has literally "changed lives and given jobs and opportunities to the world and beyond".
I suppose it goes without saying that we should be indebted to Steve. Without his contributions, we'd never see the light of day on portable social media products such as the iPad and iPhone, and he literally changed the landscape of the music industry by introducing iTunes. This man has been at the center of it all, and while his failing health has led him to quietly step down as CEO of Apple last August, he remained an inspirational figure nonetheless. Today, I am among the number of people who use these devices and technological innovations, and this post here was typed using a MacBook. Truly, the world has lost one of its icons and legends, and we shall always remember him for his legacy.
His commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005 remains one of the most inspiring and breathtaking videos to watch. View it here via YouTube, and see the man for who he was .
Rest In Peace, Steve. Thank You.

"Beware the Batman" animated series debuts on 2013
Announced by Warner Bros. during the MIP Junior Market Convention in Cannes, France on Sunday and reported by sites Comic Book Movie and Superherohype, it appears that a new Batman animated series is in the works by Warner Bros. Animation, but will be done in CGI like that of the upcoming Green Lantern: The Animated Series.
Titled "Beware The Batman", Warner Bros. executive vice president for creative affairs Sam Register confirmed that the new series will debut sometime in 2013, and will feature "a classic looking Batman teaming up with a gun-totting Alfred Pennyworth and a female sidekick ninja named Katana (who may be THE SAME Katana from Batman's own team creation, The Outsiders).
Executive-produced by legendary and longtime Batman: The Animated Series collaborator Glen Murakami, Beware The Batman will explore the more obscure villains of the Bat-mythology, featuring the likes of Professor Pyg in his rogues gallery. However, that's not to say that classic villains like The Joker or Penguin won't be making any appearances either. Also, despite the fact that Batman will team up with a young female-sidekick named Katana, that doesn't mean she will be a replacement for Robin.
At this point, I don't know what to feel about a CGI Batman cartoon series, but it's too early to say, and no other noteworthy info about the series was given other than the announcement and year it will be released. For more info, visit the source posts at The World's Finest, CBM, and Superherohype.
Beware The Batman is slated for release sometime in 2013!

Batman Arkham City Update: Nightwing is coming to the game as DLC!
Take this with a grain of salt of however you'd pluck out news in the internet, but via a scoop at Comic Book Movie, it looks like we may now have a fourth playable character coming to Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham City, and it's none other than the first Robin and ward of Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson aka Nightwing!
Word of Nightwing's appearance in the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum was speculated for some time now (and hoped by big Batfans). In website PSTrophies, the trophy list to Batman Arkham City was updated, and featured in it were specific trophies dedicated to the orphaned circus acrobat and protege of Batman. This means that like the other DLC character Tim Drake/ Robin, Dick Grayson/ Nightwing will be playable as an extra character outside of the main campaign mode, which allows players to control Batman and Catwoman in the main story.
Nightwing has yet to be officially confirmed, but there's a strong possibility now that word like this is out. You can check more on the scoop from the source posts at CBM and PSTrophies for details.

DC The New 52: Thoughts and Impressions One Month Later
It's been a whole month since the reboot bandwagon rolled along and DC Comics ushered in "The New 52" to the comic industry, and so far things have been looking up and good for the most part. With titles like Justice League #1, Action Comics #1, Detective Comics #1, Batgirl #1, Animal Man #1, The Flash #1, and Aquaman #1 leading the charge, it's a safe bet to say that the Direct Competition has paid off with their gamble to relaunch their universe after the events of Flashpoint. Here and there, I've seen tons of books being sold out in comic shops around the metro, and all I can say is that I'm GLAD I'm not collecting all the books en masse. Not to worry for those hopefuls out there who are itching for their own copies. DC has commissioned reprints on sold out titles, so there's a chance yet to pick up your favorite book if you missed the first prints, or you could simply hold off until the trade paperbacks come in.
