The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Official plot synopsis and Oscorp prop pic released

Tons of Marvel news has hit recently, such as Chris Pratt being cast as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy and a video of Marvel's Agent M visiting the set of the S.H.I.E.L.D TV Series going online. There's no exceptions for Marvel and Sony's next Spidey flick with Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man 2! Columbia Pictures has officially announced that production has started for the movie, with director Marc Webb returning and reuniting with Garfield and Emma Stone, who are once again returning as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy respectively. Jamie Foxx joins the cast as the villain Electro, as well as Dane DeHaan of Chronicle fame playing Harry Osborn and Shailene Woody playing the lovely Mary Jane Watson.

Via Cinema Blend and Columbia Pictures, here's the official plot synopsis for the movie:

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

In related news, Marc Webb also revealed in his official Twitter page a pic of Oscorp Gear from his production diary, and stuff that will most likely in some capacity appear in the sequel.
It's a good bet we'll be seeing more of Oscorp Industries playing its hand in the creation of villains that will trouble Pete's life as well as his alter ego's. Also, there's still the matter of actually seeing Norman Osborn himself, aka The Green Goblin, who's been shrouded in mystery and has yet to make a move against Peter Parker and Spider-Man. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theaters on May 2, 2014.
