Marvel Movies: Marvel wants JGL to be their Doctor Strange in "Phase 3"

Take this news as a rumor and with a grain of salt for now... But with the SDCC on the horizon this week and new aplenty, it looks like Marvel wants a real big name to play Doctor Strange, and fans who've seen this guy's work in recent films will most likely agree with their prospectful choice!

According to a report by Latino Review and posted in Bleeding Cool, the big bosses at Marvel are looking at the possibility of getting Inception and 500 Days Of Summer star Joseph Gordon-Levitt to play Stephen Strange in their plans for a live action adaptation of the popular Marvel Comics' hero and Sorcerer Supreme himself, Doctor Strange!

Given, JGL is a big name now considering his choice and appearance in several big name movies, and he's even appeared in other known blockbuster popculture films like G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and The Dark Knight Rises, the latter of which he played the Nolanverse nod to Robin the Boy Wonder himself with amalgamation cop character John Blake.

Also later this year, Levitt will make his directorial debut with the film Don Jon, and starring opposite him will be the Black Widow of Avengers fame herself... Scarlett Johansson (with cameo appearances even by familiar faces and co-stars of his!). Check the trailer above and see what to expect from this talented hitRECORD founder and wonder!

At this point, we'll just have to wait for official word from this week's San Diego Comic Con at what Marvel Studios plans are for Phase 3 of their Marvel Cinematic Universe. Still, if they do meet and successfully get JGL in line, it's going to be a big thing! For more on the story, visit the source post at Bleeding Cool and Latino Review!
